Northwest Stoves is looking to bring 2 experienced Outside Sales Representatives in to our growing company in Abbotsford, BC.
 
For the past 10 years, Northwest Stoves has grown from a modest fireplace wholesaler into a multi-faceted distributor of “fire” products across Western Canada. We are excited about the next phase of our growth as we add this key leader to our current team. Ideally, we are looking for individuals with experience within the hearth and barbecue industry, in either a sales or technical capacity.  It is important to us that the individuals selected live within their territories, which are listed here:  
Territory 1 - Alberta, Saskatechewan & Manitoba
Territory 2 - BC Okanagan & Kootenay regions
 
Basic Job Responsibilities:
(1) Maintaining and growing sales with existing dealer base
(2) Identifying new opportunities to grow the business and follow up on leads
(3) Monitor territory and industry trends and develop action plan to work within these trends
(4) Continue to foster excellent relationships with Northwest Stoves large and diverse dealer base
 

While having someone with the requisite experience and educational background is important, we also want to find the right person to fit with our NWS family.    Here are the key qualities that the successful candidate must possess:

 

Positive Attitude

As we think about the person who will be able to workwithin our sales team, possessing a positive, can-do attitude may be the most crucialattribute of all. At Northwest Stoves, our Outside Sales Representatives need to be able tocomfortably negotiate the ever-changing landscape of our dealer network, and developand maintain strong professional relationships with our dealers, manufacturers as well asthe Northwest Stoves office team.
 
Superior Communication Skills
Our Outside Sales Representatives will be on the ‘front line’ when speaking with ourOur Outside Sales Representatives will be on the ‘front line’ when speaking with ourdealers, so excellent communication skills are essential. An Outside Sales Representativemust be able to express him or herself clearly in writing and in conversation and be verycomfortable speaking both one on one and in education settings.
 
Excellent Computer and Multi-Tasking Skills
While experience within our core systems is beneficial, it is important that the OutsideWhile experience within our core systems is beneficial, it is important that the OutsideSales Representative arrives with a strong knowledge using a variety of devices enablinghim or her to search, communicate and perform. These may include but are no limited to:computer and/or laptop (using SAGE/ACCPAC, Excel and WORD is a bonus), smartphone, tablet. Experience with Google Docs is a bonus as well.
 
Experience and Education
- The successful candidates will have a minimum of 3-5 years within the hearth industry.
- Previous outside sales experience is a definite asset
- Public speaking experience is an asset as well
